Designed by the architect Janusz Gąsiorowski of Marka Pracownia Architektoniczna, the new sports and leisure hall in Puławy is one of the most acoustically advanced buildings in Poland, accentuated, it must be said, with equally stunning appearance. Constructed on the site of a former sawmill, the hall is set to host concerts and world-class sports events. The Bikepark stands and the visually lightweight Limpido outdoor benches with curves strikingly reminiscent of the shape of the unmissable white building itself seem to have been tailor made for this project.
Once upon a time
there was a pine cone… It was not an ordinary pine cone, rather, Pinecone – a fabulously magical structure loved by children and adults alike. Inspired by the laws of nature, the self-supporting structure forms a dome of 109 scales in seven rows above each other. Thanks to the rotation of the scales in the individual layers, the Pinecone gazebo has an airy feel, a pleasant microclimate and perfect acoustics. At the same time, it provides shelter from the sun, wind and rain. You can find it in Górki Czechowskie, Lublin, the largest park offering 75 hectares of greenspace with plenty walking trails, jogging and cycling paths, playgrounds, places for sports and picnics.
