Danubeflats Residential Development

Architects A01 have redefined city center living. Danubeflats meets the latest standards in architecture, services, and quality of life. At 180 meters high with 48 floors, it is the tallest residential building in the city. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Danube arm – the Neue Donau, which has undergone extensive revitalization and the construction of new levees to protect the city.

The entire Donau City neighbourhood, including Danubeflats, is designed as a city within a city. This concept is reflected in both the interior and exterior design of the residential district. The residents have access to extensive services, restaurants, wellness facilities, and sports amenities within one urban unit. The public space extends to the water and features green islands and biodiversity beds that connect to the surrounding parks. Nearly 20 atypical Vera Solo benches "floating" on elevated organic beds form part of the lounging areas. The complexity of the project is evident in the 100 hours of construction work that went into these sets of wavy benches on legs or retaining walls. The public space of the Danubeflats district is the work of studio Karl Grimm Landscape Architects.
