A triple win! Three Red Dot Awards.

Category: Awards

We have something worth celebrating. This year, we are proud to have received three Red Dot Design Awards 2026. The international jury recognised our stadium seating Highlands, cycle stand Ocus, and minimalist bench Linfa.

Three distinct designs. One defining moment. We always aim high, but this level of recognition still feels truly special.

Highlands was developed for the Horácká Arena in Jihlava in collaboration with CHYBIK+KRISTOF and designers Jitka Trčková and David Karásek of mmcité. The product originated from the development work of our subsidiary Kovostal. Its form draws inspiration from Gothic elements and the hedgehog, a symbol traditionally associated with the city of Jihlava. The distinctive triangular detail on the seat and backrest is not only a defining visual feature, but also contributes to the acoustic performance of the space. The seating system was designed with durability, comfort, and flexibility in mind, making it suitable for multi-purpose arenas. As David Karásek explains, „We designed Highlands as an integral part of the architecture of the entire hall. The aim was to create a solution that goes beyond function and actively contributes to the acoustic comfort of the space.

Another award-winning product is the Ocus cycle stand, responding to the growing role of cycling in public space. This minimalist design, formed from a continuously bent steel tube, reflects the natural flow and movement of cyclists. As designer Iveta Krmíčková notes, „A bicycle today is more than a means of transport. For many, it is an expression of identity and lifestyle.“ With that in mind, Ocus was designed as a solution that treats the bicycle with care and respect. Its design is based on a precise balance between tube diameter and bending radius, combining visual clarity with structural stability. The intuitive way the bicycle is positioned ensures secure and stable parking, while its freestanding form allows for flexible placement, even in more space-constrained environments. Ocus has also been selected for exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, where outstanding designs from around the world are presented each year.

The third award-winning product, Linfa, was developed in collaboration with AG&P Greenscape and Cattaneo Design. Linfa is defined by its slender silhouette, bringing visual lightness to public space while meeting high demands for durability and long-term performance. Its construction makes it suitable for parks, squares, and indoor public environments. As the designers describe it: „Linfa was conceived as a pursuit of maximum visual lightness while maintaining high structural strength. This contrast became the key principle of the design.“
