Our design manifesto

We used to search for the shortest route possible — now we’re spending more and more time outdoors. Public spaces are fascinating places where people and history meet. We are proud to design for this unique setting, and we can influence everybody’s taste. No exclusivity, genuine accessibility.

Street furniture is something which belongs to no one and serves everyone. Designing and manufacturing it is a cultural mission that we love. We treasure our cities, so we try to make them more beautiful, wherever they are.

Good design isn’t for a gallery — it’s for life

We are not just suppliers of quality street furniture, but also a partner to anyone who wants to make a public space into something extraordinary.

mmcité design studio

„The city is a majestic living organism. We have inherited its custody from our ancestors, and one day we will pass it down to our descendants. We mustn’t neglect it, in any sense of the word. It is not true to say that public spaces don’t belong to anyone — in fact they belong to us all.” David Karásek

Czech designer David Karásek (b. 1969) is a graduate from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, majoring in product design. He is co-founder and creative director of mmcité, and the creator of a range of award-winning pieces of street furniture...

“For me, design is about searching for a compromise between form and function. In free art you express your thoughts as forms. Design as applied art wishes to express itself the same way, but it must be functional at the same time.

Public spaces in a city are fascinating places where people and history meet. I am proud that we focus mmcité design right here. We can influence everybody’s taste, and we love that. No exclusivity, genuine accessibility.

For mmcité this is nothing short of a cultural mission. We highly value our cities, so we are always pushing to make them more beautiful.”
