Hotel and Restaurant in the City Center – Imperial Riding School
The sensitive conversion of a historic building from 1729 into a public and private spaces attracts the attention of city residents and tourists alike. Over time, the original imperial riding school was transformed over time into the largest cinema in the Austrian capital. Today, it has shaken off the layers of time and under the direction of London architects from Goddard Littlefair studio in collaboration with Vienna's BWM Designers & Architects studio, it has been transformed into a luxury hotel offering restaurants, wellness facilities and a sauna. It is also a meeting place for city residents.
Visitors to the hotel interior will discover interior details inspired by horse riding. Horseshoe motifs, leather reins, saddle-evoking furniture, and other elements blend with the original architecture creating an atmosphere that evokes old cinemas and Art Nouveau. The public space between Ungargasse and Bahngasse streets was designed by landscape architects from Lindle + Bukor studio. Bespoke backlit Landscape benches follow the green areas of the square and offer comfortable seating to restaurant visitors.
