mmcité scoops another award in Spain

International Association of Public Transportation (UITP) has given the award for the best integration of urban tram line in Zaragoza, Spain to professor of architecture Aldo Iñaki, who worked on the project in collaboration with mmcité.
UITP is the international network for public transport authorities and operators, policy decision-makers, scientific institutes and the public transport supply and service industry. It is a platform for worldwide cooperation, business development and the sharing of know-how between its 3, 400 members from 92 countries.
The award-winning first phase of the tram line in Zaragoza offers a different perspective on solving transport projects: a mix of unconventional materials, extensive clean areas, light poles and grass on the roof of tram stops.
mmcité currently works in close cooperation with aldayjover architects on the second phase of the tram line in Zaragoza, which is under construction, with the completion expected in April 2013. Second part of the line runs through the historic centre of the city as well as other major neighbourhoods, such as the Coso or central market.
